On Friday 9th February, 2024, the Youth in Natural Resources and Environmental Governance organised a capacity building workshop for the Technical Working Group of the platform which was formed prior to play a crucial role in promoting Natural Resource for present and future generation.
Excited participants of the workshop voiced their willingness to learn and contribute their diverse perspectives to make a lasting impact.
Executive Coordinator of SYND, Chibeze Ezekiel enlightened participants on how to conduct technical reviews and analysis. He also underscored the need for policy advocacy and youth inclusion in policy making and outlined steps in conducting document analysis.
Participants were educated on the rules of engagements as a technical working group in order to maintain impartiality and fairness in decision-making.
Using the Emissions Levy Act as a case study, discussions were held and the Vice Executive Coordinator of SYND, Solomon Yamoah shared his views on the significance of the Levy Act and recommended strategies for proposing a position paper.
Mr. Ezekiel also outlined steps that could be taken to draft and finalise a position paper on the Emissions Levy Act.
