The quarterly general meeting of the Youth in Natural Resources and Environmental Governance (Youth-NREG) took place in Kumasi at Miklin Hotel, Kumasi.
The purpose of the meeting was for members to share their progress in the Natural Resource and Environmental sector and some activities or projects they may be working on.
Members shared their progress in the areas of green minerals, climate change, sustainable farming and Forestry.
They were also reintroduced to the purpose of the platform; pursuant to the National Youth Policy and birthed out of the aim of amplifying youth voices and establishing relevance in the NRE sector.
The Executive Coordinator of SYND, Chibeze Ezekiel who led the presentation, also reminded members of the need to know their potential, volunteer in their fields and take action to see change.
Members at the meeting were engaged in an intensive 5 hour capacity building workshop on “Resource Mobilisation and Grant Proposal Formation”.
The session which was led by Dr. Kodimah Sita was a fusion of group activities and knowledge sharing sessions.
At the end of the workshop members were encouraged to effectively use the knowledge gained to find genuine partnerships when applying for funds.
