About
YOUTH NREG
The Youth in Natural Resources and Environmental Governance (Youth-NREG) Platform is a youth-led initiative that promotes active youth participation in environmental and natural resource governance.
The platform was established in May 2019 by the Strategic Youth Network for Development (SYND), with support from the World Bank Ghana Office and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Ghana.

OBJECTIVES
WHAT WE SET OUT TO ACHIEVE.
Enhance the knowledge and capacity of youth on environmental and natural resource governance issues.
Positively influence national and local level policy planning and implementation in the environmental sector.


Demonstrate youth contribution to climate and environmental solutions.
Position the platform as a credible mechanism for engaging young people on natural resource governance.

The Youth-NREG Platform hosts several programmes aimed at strengthening youth leadership, policy engagement, and collaboration within the environmental sector.
- The African Youth Conference on Natural Resources and Environmental Governance (AYC)
- Annual General Assembly for members
- Technical Working Groups that support research, policy papers, and advocacy initiatives
- Capacity-building activities and collaborative programmes among member organizations.
